Our Culture
Costa Norte Solutions exists because people need other good, honest, hard-working people on their side sometimes—and we are good, honest, hard-working people. We love the Dominican Republic, and we want nothing more than to make sure that you love it, too. So we have decided to use our knowledge and experience to facilitate that desire. When you work with us, you can expect 100% accountability and 0% stress.
Our People
So far, we have two people on our team, so it's pretty easy for us to keep up with our quality control. All jokes aside, we do our best to keep this a BS-free zone. That means we always keep it straight to the point. We only provide services that fit within our capabilities. If we can't do what you need, we will help you find someone in our network of friends, family, and comrades that can. We're just cool like that.
MEET THE TEAM
Jose LUIS
Jose Luis doesn't like to brag, but his wife Tracy does, and she is the one writing this bio.
Jose Luis knows what hard work is. Before he started elementary school, he was out in the fields of Gaspar Hernandez, Dominican Republic, helping his dad with a machete in his hand. At the ripe old age of 10, Jose Luis was working as a shoeshine boy. By the time he was in his late teens, he had held many jobs. Including a ball boy at the local tennis and golf club, a horserider at the local stable, and cleaning lounge chairs a the all-inclusive resort.
It was at this all-inclusive resort where Jose would happen upon the opportunity of a lifetime. He met a foreigner who led him to the chance of becoming the first Dominican professional kitesurfer. His main sponsor was Red Bull. This incredible opportunity allowed him to travel the world, perfect his English, and generally expand his horizons.
There came the point when the fun was over, and it was time to get a "real job." Jose Luis worked as the general manager for a company with several condo complexes and villas for a decade. It was here that he gained extensive experience in property and project management.
Alas, the beach kept calling his name. So when he met Tracy, he decided to team up with her at her Kitesurfing Center and open a restaurant with his brother. As it turns out, the restaurant is full of tourists and ex-pats looking to rent, buy, and sell property. So, El Cocotazo Cafe has become a beachfront networking center that serves delicious food with a smile.
In his free time, he likes to eat lots of seafood, ride enduro on his dirtbike, kitesurf, play tennis, play golf, ride horses, and go off-roading with his 4 daughters in tow.
Talk about turning limes into limonada!
TRACY
Tracy is the one writing this bio, too. So I will start writing from the first-person point of view....because saying "she" is weird.
In my past life, I was a professional racecar driver. No, not NASCAR!! I was a drifter — the cars that slide. Yes, like in the Fast and Furious movies. Since obtaining sponsorships is marketing and I was very good at getting sponsorships, I ultimately went to university and earned a degree in advertising. That's where I learned how to make websites like this one you are on right now! After I graduated, I came to Cabarete for a month-long vacation. Very long story made very short, I learned how to kitesurf and never left! As in, I literally never ever went home. Now I have been here 10 glorious years!
In those 10 years, I have learned so much. I learned to speak Spanish (not just Spanish, but Dominican Spanish, which is pretty much its own language). I learned how to kite, surf, and SUP. I learned how to buy property safely in the Dominican Republic (I have purchased 4 properties so far). I worked as a digital marketing specialist for 6 hotels in the area. I learned how to incorporate and run 2 businesses (a kite school and restaurant) in the Dominican Republic. I gave birth to a beautiful baby girl in Nagua, Dominican Republic. But more than anything, I have learned that I love the culture, the people, and the landscape of the Dominican Republic—and I am staying here forever.
That being said, when I met Jose Luis, my life got so much easier. I have accomplished a lot here, but let me tell you, it has not been easy. I have been through a lot of ups and downs because this culture is very different than mine. Since Jose is a local, navigating life is just a lot more manageable (and fun!).
And that, my friends, is why Jose and I make an incredible team. We have the experience and knowledge to help you get things done in the Dominican Republic between the two of us. Whatever it is!
